The term “drip coffee” may or may not be familiar to you, suffice it to say, I have no doubt that if you’ve ever drank coffee in your life, you’ve had drip coffee. Simply put, drip coffee is coffee that’s brewed by allowing hot water to drip through a coffee gadget giving you a freshly brewed coffee. This actually include the usual coffee makers that we have. 

So why is it called drip coffee? Well, it has everything to do with how the coffee is brewed. In an automatic coffee maker, the brewing process looks something like this:

1. A filter full of ground coffee is loaded into the coffee maker.

2. The water reservoir is filled with water.

3. A heating element heats the water, forcing it upwards.

4. Water flows up to a shower head and is dripped onto the filter full of ground coffee.

5. Brewed coffee flows out of the basket and into a carafe.

Luckily, we no longer need to buy a coffee maker in order to experience a freshly brewed drip coffee. We now have what we call single serve drip coffee (also known as single drip coffee), it is an instant way to enjoy a great drip coffee without a hassle. It’s like a tea bag but instead of tea, it is ground coffee. The bag is also folded ingeniously with little paper stands, which suspend it over your cup. Simply drizzle in hot water, and voila! You’ve got an instant, single serving of fresh, pour-over coffee.​ These are also best to bring during out of towns where we cannot bring our coffee gadgets. 

Your “instant” coffee doesn’t have to be the usual 3-in-1 powdered coffee-creamer-sugar in a pack or the first wave coffee most people are accustomed to, which is coffee grown exponentially, processed, and packed in factories and sold in grocery stores. Usually, this type of on-the-go coffee has already lost its true properties and the caffeine kick that we’re looking for. Aside from the run-down taste, the nutritional benefits of coffee are also no longer there.
